About Our Service and the People Behind It
We are an independent connector based in Nashville, Tennessee. One request form puts your personal loan request in front of lenders in our network, and you decide what happens next.
We built our service for people who need a modest amount of money, usually between $500 and $5,000, and do not want to fill out the same application on a dozen lender sites. Many visitors find us after searching for earnest personal loans, so we want to be clear from the start about what we do, how we are paid and where our role ends.
Who we are
We are an independent loan-connection service based in Nashville, Tennessee, that shares a borrower's single request with lenders in our network so they can respond with offers.
Our team is small: people with backgrounds in consumer lending operations, customer support, compliance and personal finance writing. We run the request form, maintain the lender network, answer borrower questions and publish the guides on this site. We do not review applications for credit, and we never hold or transfer loan funds.
Most requests we see are for everyday costs: a car repair that cannot wait, a medical or dental bill, a security deposit on a new apartment, a water heater that failed overnight, or a few credit card balances someone wants to combine into one payment. Those are the situations our guides are written for.
Our mission
Our mission is to make comparing small personal loans faster and clearer, so borrowers can see real options, understand the full cost, and walk away from any offer without pressure.
Comparing personal loans is harder than it should be. Rates are advertised as wide ranges, fees are often deducted before funding, and the true cost only shows up in the lender's disclosure. We try to fix part of that by sending one request to several lenders at once and by explaining, in plain language, how to read what comes back. A request is free, it never obligates you, and the lender's agreement is the only document that creates a loan. To see each stage in order, read how our service works.
How we make money
Lenders and marketing partners in our network pay us, typically when we deliver a request or when a borrower takes a further step, so using the request form costs you nothing.
Compensation can affect which lenders participate in our network and the order in which offers or partners appear. It does not change the rate or terms a lender offers you, and no lender pays us to say it is the best choice for you. Our advertiser disclosure explains the compensation model, how placement works and why not every lender in the market is included.
Editorial standards
Every guide on our site is written to help a borrower make a decision, uses labeled estimates rather than promises, and is reviewed for accuracy against how small-dollar lending actually works.
Our articles are written and maintained by four staff writers: Corinne Vasquez-Hale, who covers borrowing basics and loan offers; Theo Lindqvist, who writes about debt consolidation and credit; Renata Molloy, who focuses on household costs such as home repairs and funeral expenses; and Jasper Quillfeather, who covers short-term needs and alternatives to borrowing.
The writers follow a few fixed rules. Every rate, payment and cost figure is labeled as an estimate or example. Our representative example is always the same: $2,000 over 12 months at 24.00% APR is 12 monthly payments of $189.12, total repaid $2,269.44, total interest $269.44, assuming no origination fee. Articles explain when borrowing is the wrong answer, name common scams and point readers toward payment plans or hardship programs when those cost less. Lenders do not review or approve our articles before they are published.
What we are not
We are not a lender, we do not make credit decisions or set rates, and we are not affiliated with any lender or company named Earnest, including the well-known lender of that name.
Lenders in our network decide whether to make an offer, at what APR, for what term and in which states. Terms vary by lender and state, and approval is never assured. When people search for earnest personal loans, they sometimes expect a single company to answer; what they find here is a connector that passes their request to independent lenders, each with its own rules.
We also do not offer mortgages, refinancing, home equity lines or student loans. Our focus stays on unsecured personal loans in the $500 to $5,000 range, because that is where a fast, clear comparison helps most. Anyone comparing earnest personal loans on our site should read each lender's full agreement before signing, because that agreement, not our site, sets the terms.
If you have a question about a request, a concern about a lender in our network or feedback on one of our guides, you can reach our team by email, phone or mail. We read every message and reply on business days.
